Business to Social Cohesion

The Problem

Women cooperatives and entrepreneurs are among the groups most affected by the negative effects of COVID-19. Not only Turkish women entrepreneurs but also Syrian refugees face major problems in forming a business and sustaining it.

The Solution

“Business to Social Cohesion Project” is carried out with the financial support of the Government of Japan and in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology General Directorate of Development Agencies.

The project aims to support social cohesion by increasing the participation of Syrian refugee women and Turkish women in socio-economic life and increasing their self-reliance with a special focus on women cooperatives and entrepreneurs.

Within the scope of the "Business to Social Cohesion Project”, I4D takes active role in the following activities:

  • Distribution of grants to women entrepreneurs and cooperatives,

  • Business to Business (B2B) and Matchmaking Event organization

  • Integration of 10 cooperatives/entrepreneurs to e-commerce platforms.

  • Training and mentoring activities

  • Preparation of a report with the theme of “The Future of Social Procurement”.

The Impact

80 beneficiaries (22 entrepreneurs and 58 cooperatives) participated in the project and benefited from the mentorship, training, B2B Event, matchmaking and grant distribution activities.
